This blue jay made us very aware of his presence during a hike through Castle Rock park in Walnut Creek California during the fall of 2010. We could hear him chirping faster and louder as we approached him on a trail. When we got close enough we could see him in this tree with his chest puffed out to show us how dominant he was. After we watched him for a short time and began to walk away down the trail his chirping slowed until we could no longer hear him.
